IG:Ok, here we are in the backstage area of rainy Provinssi Rock, which hasn't even started properly yet and we saw two heavy-people walking around here, and I mean Tarja and Tuomas from Nightwish. So how is it going?
TH: Well it's nice to get inside finally...
TT: We just walk nearly 5,5 kilometers really, and it was pouring rain, but who cares, this is a festival thing....
IG: Why did you have to walk?
TT. Because the taxi left us to the wrong place. This is what happens to the artist very often, relly.
IG: So you couldn't just say "don't you know who we are"?
TT Well that's the last thing that came to our mind, I mean we were so embarrased, well, these things happen...
IG: So let's move to the more sensible things now, and the first thing is Tuomas' world famous trip around the world... So did you go around the world?
TH: Has it become public information? Yes we went around the world and I came back 3 weeks ago and everything went very well.
IG: Did you empty your head, or did you get even more new ideas?
TH: Well I didn't really go empty my head there, let's say that I just wanted to expand little bit without no pressures of making the album, and get good feelings and spend couple of months alone. And I gotta say, as corny as it sounds, the idea-bank filled very much and almost the whole concept of the next album became ready.
IG: Can you reveal anything about it?
TH: No more than I already did...
IG: OK...But the trip took quite a long time as far as I know, how long was it?
TT: It was 2 months, that's the least it takes, if one wants to do more than sitting in a plain.
IG: So what did Miss Heavy singer did in the mean time?
TT: Well Tarja was travelling around the world little bit...No...We went to South-America to relax little bit. Of course it's nice to be here in Finland, but to find some time for oneself...so that takes to loosing off little bit...I bet Tuomas' trip has been a great experience for him, and I enjoyed mine as well. It is like we gotta get some strenght every once in a while from somewhere.
IG: Well now you're back in Finland, and yesterday you had kinda secret gig in Jyväskylä. How were things in there?
TH: Well...after the soundcheck we all wanted to hang ourselfs...
TT: (laughs) Oh yeah...we sure did...
TH: The gig itself went better than we expected, for example we have never played Sleeping Sun as well as we did in that gig. But when we rehearced it, it sounded really awful...I've been thinking that it's been really mysterious thing that the just hasn't work live...
IG: So the song is back in the set list now?
TH: yes it is, and we're going to play it whole summer now, and let's see how does it work...it was like we were very relieved...
TT: We've almost run out of our faith in it, but that's the way it is, sometimes things just don't work. And it's a weird thing that no matter how good the song is, it doesn't necesserily work, and it really is very mysterious thing...Let's see, we're supposed to play it tomorrow again, but we shall see what happens.
IG: Yeah tomorrow...or actually Saturday, it depends when this interwiew is aired, Nightwish will be on stage here in Provinssi Rock. Is there gonna be something exclusive in the setlist besides the Sleeping Sun?
TH: We're going to play 4 songs that havent been in a set for a long time, so we are trying something new...It's an interesting that we're playing between Godsmack and Limb Bizkit, so ther'll be lots of tattooed guys around...
TT: I never thought about that, but now I gotta think about it day before...*weird noises* yeah, ok.
IG: So I think we will hear also this...Over The Hills And Far Away, which was just released in an EP?
TH: Yes, you will hear it, and for me personally it the most fun song to play live that we've ever played, it gives really good feeling and it's very good live song.
TT: It has a different feeling that our other songs...well it is not our song...so that's one reason for different feelin, so it has real rock attitude.
IG: What do you think what Gary Moore would think about the song if he heard it some day?
TH: It's probably not blues enough for his taste at the moment...
TT: *singing* AAAAA... Blues...I think I should start learning how the blues scale goes...
IG: You got 24 hours time to learn for tomorrow...
TT: Yeah, yeah, yeah...
